Oh my Captain !

Image
CSK reached their 11th final in the IPL. Match was played at Chepak.  On a summer afternoon, over 40 degrees of temperature, an ardent fan, waits in a long queue at the stadium entrance gate.  Oh my captain! How do I celebrate? One last game left, Before you leave us in eternal thirst. Born in the '80s, fell in love with the game, watched, played, and dreamed it all year. A little boy grew into a man, wrote, read, and talked about it all year. Believed in every World Cup team, shouted, cheered, and dreamed for years. Cried and frustrated each time, carried the pain and longing for years. Oh my captain! You are our surprise storm, showed us hope, walked us the distance, and finally made us fly. You made us feel what it's like to be a champion. Even a man who never tasted success in life, you made him feel like a winner, you made him feel proud, you made him feel like a champion. Oh my captain, You are a conman of the heart. I love the game; you made your team my favorite. I love

Dream Job

A beautiful island off the cost of north Germany had a small lighthouse built in 1855. The light house was decommissioned in 1969. Since then it has been serving as memorial museum and a tourist attraction. Though is it not a super popular tourist spot, it draws quite a good number in warmer months. As the current light house keeper is getting retired, about 2 months before, a job advertisement for the light house keeper was posted online and in local newspapers. It is just one man on this posting. He reports to the local municipal office. Typical all day work would be to take care of cleaning the premises, do small repair works if needed and issue tickets and souvenirs for the visitor of the light house. Occasionally destination wedding, Family parties happen on the location. Lighthouse is 39 meter high with 161 steps and Keeper has to walk up and down at least 2 times a day. The salary of the job is decent. Lighthouse is open all year except on holidays. Keeper has the duty throughou

Who is a beggar?

My first German Spring/Summer, i was very excited to travel and explore the country. One of my long time friend who had been working already in Germany for quite sometime visited me. I didn't want to miss that opportunity to make a trip and also made sure he sponsored for it.  We planned a day trip to a very famous Bavarian castle - 'Neuschwanstein' at Alps mountain. Horse-carts  are used to carry passengers from the bus-station to the castle which is a couple of kilometers away on a hill. But many people chose to walk up the hill. There some wonderful viewpoints on the way to the castle.  We decided to walk up the hill and its easy to describe the experience of walking through Alps. Check out the pictures. On the way up, we saw a man dressed up in traditional Bavarian attire and singing on the road side, i assumed to be a beggar, didn't mind him as i have seen a lot such people at the busy places like railway stations, shopping streets in some cities so far

Wrong Turn

It was summer 2015; i started working as an intern in a company at black forest region, Germany. I do not think, i need to describe you about the beauty of this region     One day when I return back from work, I decided to take a long route via many small villages around in the hilly region… just for its stunning scenery on the way through those calm, beautiful little hills. The climate was nice that day, slightly rainy and misty.   I usually commute by bus; I had to take two buses to home, one from my company to a distance remote village inside black forest and from there another bus to my town. The bus stop I take my second bus was supposed to be fourth stopping for the bus from its origin. As I got in, I see nobody in the bus as usual... Not surprising !!!  It is more common that buses runs almost empty in those regions. At some places, in non peak hours, someone waiting at the bus stop had to step on to the road and wave his hand as a signal for the driver to stop, usual

Christmas Guest

24 th December 2015 It was 8’0 clock in the evening, Christmas Eve prayer just got over in an Evanglische church located in the outskirts of a small town deep inside of black forest in Germany. Church volunteers were wrapping up the things after the event.   As one of the residents in the church building, I was also invited for the Christmas Eve function; I stayed in a room on the second floor of the same church building which was rented out by church management.  There were totally seven rooms, all were occupied by students from nearby towns and villages who studies in the local college. Black forest is one of the most beautiful regions in the country, not densely populated; sharing borders of Switzerland on one side and France on the other side. I enjoyed my summer time touring around every single holiday, but then came winter, it was heavy, almost snowing every day, weekends were terrible for me, there wasn’t no-much friends for me there and more over neighbor ro

Travel is beautiful and adventurous, unless you are too lazy and home sick.Situations around you keep changing and sometimes surprises you every moment. You have to be prepared enough to enjoy and keep going, otherwise it would be maddening or vexatious and even you may end up losing anything. sometime it could even cost your life.Travel demands not only healthy body but also healthy mind. Here comes a short story from my recent travel experience.... Its 2:15 PM, Landing at Frankfurt Airport-Germany I returned from my homeland-India after summer vacation.12 hours of travel...with drowsy eyes and barotraumatic ears, i dragged myself  to the baggage counter after completing immigration check. Looking at some pretty fellow passengers, air hostess and cute children playing around, i waited to collect my heavy weighted two suitcases from the conveyor belt. When i took out my baggage, i found one of my suitcase wheels was missing...looking at that, I w
